Chance of Glimpsing Aurora Borealis Enhanced Over Northern States, Including Indiana

Missed Friday's Spectacle? Don't Fret, Skies May Illuminate Again Tonight and Tomorrow

The vibrant hues of the northern lights, an ethereal spectacle that has captivated sky enthusiasts for centuries, are predicted to grace the night sky once more this weekend, extending the opportunity for awe-inspiring celestial displays.

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Geomagnetic Storm Index, the viewing area of the aurora borealis, commonly known as the northern lights, will extend farther south than usual. This means that sky gazers in northern states, including Indiana, may be treated to a glimpse of this celestial phenomenon.

NWS maps indicate that the aurora's intensity and location will vary across the region. Predictions suggest a 50% chance of spotting the northern lights across the northern United States tonight and tomorrow night.
