Cancelled Plans Saw Hugh Jackmans Wolverine Cameo In Deadpool 2

Deadpool and Wolverine almost starred in Iron Man

Cancelled plans saw Hugh Jackman's Wolverine cameo in Deadpool 2

Screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick revealed the news in a recent interview

Plans for a potential Deadpool and Wolverine crossover have been teased for years, but it turns out that the two iconic Marvel characters were almost brought together much sooner than expected.

In a recent interview with IndieWire, Deadpool and Wolverine screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick revealed that they had initially planned for Hugh Jackman to reprise his role as Wolverine in Deadpool 2. The idea was eventually scrapped, but it's still fascinating to think about what could have been.

According to Reese and Wernick, the plan was for Jackman's Wolverine to make a brief cameo appearance in Deadpool 2. The scene would have seen Deadpool and Wolverine sitting in a bar, talking about their shared experiences as mutants. The scene would have been a lot of fun, and it would have given fans of both characters a chance to see them interact on screen.

Unfortunately, the plan for Jackman's cameo fell through due to scheduling conflicts. Jackman was busy filming The Greatest Showman at the time, and he was unable to commit to Deadpool 2. As a result, the scene was scrapped, and Wolverine was not included in the film.

Despite the setback, Reese and Wernick are still hopeful that they will be able to bring Deadpool and Wolverine together on screen one day. They have said that they would love to do a Deadpool and Wolverine movie, and they are confident that they can make it happen.

In the meantime, fans of Deadpool and Wolverine can still enjoy their interactions in the comics. The two characters have a long history together, and they have been featured in some of the most iconic Marvel stories ever told.
